Project Origin is a contemporary showroom interior design project by 10x Interiors, created as the flagship space for Fufini Australia in Nunawading, Melbourne. Designed to showcase premium microcement and architectural surface finishes, the showroom features seamless flooring, sculptural forms and a refined neutral palette. The space is intentionally designed to highlight material texture, lighting and spatial flow, offering an immersive environment for designers, architects and clients to experience surface design in a real-world setting.

When designing Project Origin, 10x Interiors intentionally divided the showroom into distinct kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living areas, allowing the space to function as a full apartment-style interior showcase. This layout enables visitors to experience microcement finishes and surface applications in realistic, everyday settings, demonstrating how materials transition seamlessly across different zones within a residential environment.

This living area is designed as a realistic residential setting within the showroom, allowing visitors to experience materials in an everyday context. Microcement tiles are used across the floor for durability and practicality, while microcement applications on the walls and ceiling create a seamless, cohesive envelope. Curved seating, integrated shelving and layered lighting further enhance the space, demonstrating how microcement finishes can be applied across multiple surfaces to achieve a refined and unified interior.

The kitchen area is designed as a fully functional kitchen, demonstrating how microcement finishes can be integrated into everyday living spaces. Clean-lined cabinetry, a generous island bench and concealed storage create a practical yet refined layout, while microcement applications on surrounding surfaces provide a cohesive material language. This zone allows visitors to experience how texture, durability and design clarity come together in a contemporary residential kitchen setting.

The bathroom is designed as a calm, functional residential space within the showroom, demonstrating how microcement applications can be used to create a seamless and refined environment. Microcement finishes are applied across the walls and ceiling, paired with a custom vanity, integrated basin and frameless shower screen to maintain visual clarity. Soft lighting and curved architectural details enhance the sense of continuity, allowing visitors to experience how microcement performs in a modern bathroom setting.

The bedroom zone is designed to create a quiet and comfortable residential setting within the showroom. Microcement is applied to the walls and ceiling, forming a soft, seamless backdrop that enhances visual calm and material continuity. Curved architectural openings, integrated lighting and concealed storage elements contribute to a refined and functional sleeping environment, allowing visitors to experience how microcement finishes perform in a realistic bedroom context.

This image captures a close-up detail of a microcement feature wall within the showroom. Subtle variations in texture and tone highlight the handcrafted nature of the finish, adding depth and visual interest to the space. Used as a focal element, the microcement feature wall demonstrates how the material can be applied selectively to create contrast and architectural emphasis without overwhelming the surrounding interiors.

A spatial journey defined by surface and form

Project Origin is a carefully considered showroom designed by 10x Interiors to explore the expressive and functional qualities of microcement within a complete interior environment. By organising the space into clearly defined zones—kitchen, living, bathroom and bedroom—the project allows visitors to experience how materials perform across different settings and uses. Through restrained detailing, controlled lighting and a consistent material palette, Project Origin serves as both a material showcase and a design reference, demonstrating how microcement can be applied across multiple surfaces to create cohesive, contemporary interiors with depth, texture and longevity.
